With this issue we move into Year C, with most Gospel passages drawn from Luke’s Gospel. The Revised Common Lectionary offers each Sunday a passage from a letter, a Hebrew Scripture passage, and a psalm. As well as these four readings from the Revised Common Lectionary, two supplementary readings are offered relating to these lectionary passages. Each week begins on Monday with the passage from the Narrative Lectionary, a more recent innovation, which traces the full story of the Bible each year.
The Psalm or psalm-like passage which is suggested each day provides extra material for your daily devotion. This schedule, devised by Howard Wallace, enables you to read all of the psalms in less than a year.
Sunday prayers follow a cycle advised by the World Council of Churches, which is available on their website at https://www.oikoumene.org/ resources/prayer-cycle.
Important people of faith are named at the end of many commentaries. To find out more about them go to https://pilgrimwr.unitingchurch.org.au/wp-content/uploads/2014/11/Compilation-Calendar-of-Commemorations.pdf
Please enjoy the resource as you read and reflect each day.
